FLICK IT ON

Hi it's Le'uma here.I did Flick It On with the flick it on team.It was really fun.We have been doing heaps of hard work.
I liked putting the sound effects into the silent movie.

                                               WOW WEEK

A few weeks ago the whole school did WOW WEEK -WHIPPING UP A STORM. We cooked and made food to eat/sell. Here's something that room 3 made; it is called SILLY SMILES we made them by slicing up an apple into small slices then you pick your favorite  slices and put some 'glue' (eg peanut butter or nuttella to help it stick) on each piece after you've dried each piece of apple a little bit on a paper towel then you put 6 mini marshmallows on the 'glued' apple pieces (stick the apple pieces onto the marshmallows.)

MMM THEY WERE EXTREMELY DELICIOUS!!!

Mmm you've gotta try these!

Hi its Caleb here I am going to talk to you about cross country. A few weeks ago we had cross country in cross country I raced about 24 people I came 9th. I was stoked I have been at the school for six years and thats my best place ever. My best place before that was about 14th. I was so determined to not stop and keep going. I had a stitch I wanted to stop but I didn't. it felt like two hours. I also had a little battle with this girl called eva she pasted me i pasted her but I bet her when it counted. I tried to pass this other girl at the end but she was to far away. Then at the end i got a card I thought I came 16th but 9th came up in my face my legs hurt when i stoped running now I have talked about my 2012 cross country

Cross Country

Hi its Jack D.
I did not do the competitive cross country race.
I came 9th place in the non-competitive cross country. It was my first time and I came 9th!
I felt proud and strong. I was fast like lightning.
(maybe I could do the competitive race next year)

Museum Trip

On Tuesday Room3 went to the museum with Niki. We learnt all about stained glass windows and how to make them they need lots of persistence and practise to master.
Room3 made some paper glass windows (if that makes sense). Anyone can make a paper glass window all you do is get some black cardboard paper and cellophane you draw in pencil a shape/animal on the black cardboard and then you cut holes in it and put the cellophane inside them.
They're really fun!
At the museum we also learnt about Matariki (the Maori New Year)

Josh Minibeast

In room 3 we have been studying our own 'Minibeasts'.

We all had to find out their classification ( scientific name ), habitat, if they are a help or a harm to humans and their life cycle.

I did my study on crickets. Its classification is Gryllus Assimillis.

Its habitat is almost everywhere except the colder climates of earth and its life cycle goes like this egg - nymph - adult.
I got my information from Wikipedia.

mini beast red legged turantula vs crabs

Logan:
The red legged tarantula can
run at 29 kilometers an hour!!

Zak: I think crabs are better than tarantulas because full
grown crabs could cut off a star fishes body in half in one go.

Logan: tarantulas are way better because
their the most dangerous spider in the world!!

Zak: crabs can grow up
to 3.5 meters long an 1.3 wide

Logan: tarantulas have an awesome habitat they live
in hilly south western Mexican Kolyma and guerrerno they
carve deep burrows into soil it helps for protection from predators.

Zak:  When a fish try's to eat a hermit crab it will choke
on it's shell because it can be to big for the fish's mouth

Logan:for protection they flick hairs at their opponents
eyes to cause a rash or blindness

Zak: Crabs live in all sorts habitat's like under
shells and sand they breath air and water.

Who's topic do you think is the best ?
