Music

On Friday we did beat circles. A beat circle is where you make a circle but with pictures. After you have made the circle, you make a key for each picture. So for example, a flower would be a clap, a star would be a click and a heart would be a slap on a surface around you. You can make up your beat to be anything. It could be flower, flower, heart, flower, star, star and so on. After we had done our beat circle in our topic books we did them again for a sample.

Annas speech 2013

Have you heard about space?

No no no I don't mean the area between my teachers ears I mean OUTER SPACE man on the moon planets galaxies stuff like that.

Do you know that we are moving though space at the rate of 530 kilometers per second.Wow that's even faster that my auntie drives. We know that if you were to put the Planet Saturn in a glass of water it would float but who of course around here has a glass that's big enough to do that. also the light that is hitting earth is 30,000 years old which means it as almost as old as my principle.

in this speech I will talk about Neil Armstrong walking on the moon changes in the number of planets in our solar system and alien life forms.

On the 20th of July 1969 Neil Armstrong became the first person to walk on the moon and he was only 32. Neils love of flying began at the age of 2 when his father took him to the air races in Cleveland . when he was 6 he was given his first ride in an aircraft. Neil Armstrong served in the Korean War and the attended college before joining the organization that would later become NASA.

he joined the astronaut program in 1962 and was command pilot for his first mission in 1966. as spacecraft commander for Apollo 11 the first manned lunar mission he became that first person to walk on the moon. Armstrong was the one who said the famous words one small step for man one giant leap for man kind. the footprints that were left there will stay there for as long as the moon lasts because the moon has no atmosphere. Also there is no volcanic activity on the moon to change the lunar surface features. it is now 44 years since Neil Armstrong walked on the moon and yet there is still sooo much we don't know about space. we cant even seem to agree on how many planets there are. it used to be 9 but then the thought they found another but then the international astronomical union decided to change the rules and now Pluto is out!!!

I know your thinking what about alien life? well new technology means that we have telescopes that can actually see distant planets. there are also radio telescopes listening for eny noise in deep space. Scientists think the chances of extraterrestrial life is high but so far they havent got any proof of alien life forms even though according to my research scientists don't have proof i have proof that aliens are real we have one come in and teach our class every Wednesday don't we Mr Betman.

Neil Armstrong to me is a hero he followed a dream he had and reached for the stars. I find that pretty cool. I may not get to know everything about space but I know like Neil Armstrong I to can reach for the stars.

P.S. this speech won the senior syndicate speech compassion and now I am going on to the interschools
