The Bridge Opening

On Friday last week it was the bridge opening. Firstly room 3 lined up outside our class. We were going over to the field to the new bridge to bless it. Since I was in the enviro group I got to sit up the front. Then we sang Wairua Tapu. Then it was time to listen to some other people's speeches. Then it was time for the youngest person who was a year one and the oldest who was 99 to cut the ribbon, the enviro group was lucky because they got to go over first. I was the second, we collected our passports and got it stamped and ran back to our class.

Variety Show Walkthrough

On Thursday the 4th of July the Variety Show will be on. Room 3, Room 4, Room 5 and Room 2 are doing it. For my part I’m playing Optimus prime. Also in my part I say this: “We could travel to Cybertron and your story will become famous throughout the Universe” and my other part is: “Join with us we will hide in plain sight and bring you anything your heart desires” and for the movie part there’s a lot but luckily I don’t have to learn it off by heart, “yes”. At the very end we all do the hall of fame song.

Senior Disco

On the 13th of may there was a disco for the Seniors and Juniors. Everyone was dancing and singing, some were making conga lines. People were buying glowing sticks and more but one thing, the Seniors had to clean the ground from the Junior disco and the Senior disco . The theme for the disco’s was Ties and Tiaras ,all the girls were being princess’s from movies, the boys were doing the moon walk and the  shuffle. The music was very very loud, people couldn’t hear other people talk. I bet everyone was so tied after the discos. It was really fun.

The Variety Show Practice

In room 3 we are doing a variety show along with the rest of the school.

Our class are doing it on the movies Alice in wonderland, Avatar,Transformers,The lord of the rings and Avengers witch are the top viewed  movies of all time and remakes or the original movies were made between the time of 2002-2013 this year we also have a narrator, Jasmine also known as the Queen of the silver screen  each movie has one 1 minute dance in the performance the longest dance is Alice in wonder land as they don’t have much speaking parts the performance will be performed  in term 2 week 9.

I’m in the group Alice in wonderland (The best group) with Teana,Caitlin,Ilaria,

 Anna and Kenya. And we chose our song Titanium now we are just learning our dance we looked on you tube for dance moves. The Variety show is coming up and we get three (3) weeks to practice and learn our dance.

At the moment we are getting ready for the variety show.  The groups are Transformers (my group) Alice in Wonderland, Lord of the rings, Avengers and Avatar. Transformers and the other groups for the variety show are getting some music and dance moves. We are starting our dances and it is going well. We can't wait for the show!

The best day on camp

On Wednesday 8th of may T3 packed there bags in a whizz eager to get going.  It was the best day on camp. The anchorage walk and the boat ride! We did it for fitness fun and to give ourselves a challenge. It was from Marahau to Anchorage hut.

Firstly we left Marahau camp ground and jogged down the road to the information center then we started the walk! suddenly {click! click!} we saw a hole family of white bait making shapes! groans came from the front of the group, we were going uphill. Along the walk there were waterfalls, awesome views foreigners and lots of hills. After five hours we saw the beach. We stopped to have lunch and a play. I played with Caitlin and Ilaria, we jumped down the sand hills.                                                                            

Then after about half an hour we saw two water taxis, and got divided into two groups, Marahau, Abel Tasman and Adele with Anchorage, I was with Abel Tasman and Marahau. Our driver was a man named Spencer. We walked up the ramp, put our life jackets on then we started doing donuts and sprayed the other boat. Along the way we saw one dancing seal and a waving blue penguin, it was awesome. We raced the other boat back and won, we hopped off the boat and thanked the driver.

Finally the best day on camp was over, the boat ride was awesome and I loved the walk. I felt good after the walk but it could of been longer.

Kayaking

It was 8:30’ and T3 grabbed a couple kayaks and headed for Marahau beach to have a ride. 

Firstly Mr Davis went over some safety rules and tips. Then we were off. The first group was Adele,first to fall out was Dominique,then jasmine so she ran back to shore,everybody  laughed so she grabbed a bucket and soaked everybody that laughed.

Next was Anchorage,and they where all right because nobody fell out.

After was the Marahau group,I’m not sure if any body fell out because I was doing the big dig that is activity when there is a fenced area and you dig for a little piece of pink paper in a ball. I dug and dug until finally my hand hit something I dug some more and I Found a pink piece of paper so I won a chocolate bar. 

Finally it was my turn for kayaking. I hopped into a pink kayak and sped out to the point.A couple of seconds later...bang! smack right head first into Caitlin’s kayak. "Hey!" she said,so she hit me with her oar. After that,Kenya asked me if I would switch kayaks because she was used to the kayak I was in so I said yes then I got in the green and Purple one,after that jack asked me for a race,"but you don’t have a kayak" I said, 

"I guess it is going to be a running kayak race" replied

 jack, "let’s do it!" I said.3,2,1,go!,it was tough but finally I won!,yes,victory. 

We all thought it was a great day then MrC called us in,so we grabbed our stuff and went back to camp.We had a shower and  morning tea,after that we were onto the next activity but that’s a different story.

The Stage Challenge

One day room 3 went to the broad green stage challenge. We left our school and lined up, and we walked down the road and we walked past the kindergarten and came in on to the stage and the curtains were covering the stage below. It was dark when we first got in and everyone was talking. And then the lady said we will open the curtains in a minute.  And we soon were quiet. The curtains opened and they said to the back stage people well done you had 4 minutes but you took 2 great job. A girl was told to speak about how dance has changed around the years. They were saying well done let’s begin and they were standing in couples and then the people in front were lip sinking to a conversation saying in my days we didn’t listen to big loud music. We had big boom boxes. And the second the music struck the people started dancing and it was really cool. Some people were sitting at a table drinking smoothies and three boys came out with their combs and started brushing their hair and then hippies came out with signs saying long live hippies and then people from the war came out with guns and some guy got shot and his partner came out with a rescue bed. And the hippies and war people became best friend music came on and they walked off happily. Then people who danced came out and started dancing that was amazing then... More dancing came on and they did dancing is in this generation now. The End
