Matariki Leigha.

Q. wha t is Matariki.
A. It is the start of  a maori new year and the maori celebration.

Q. why is it important?

A. This what i think it is important because it is a celebration of a maori new year.

Q. 3 facts about matariki.
A.  Traditionally the drawn rising of  matariki was a siyen to maori that was the hunting season was comeing to an end and the planting season was abot to begain.
The name of the stars are waita / waiti / wiaipuna-a-rangi / urnia-a-rangi / tupu-a-rangi / matariki / tupu-a-nuku.
In mid-winter the land lies cold and looking for time  to plan your spring planting.

Q. why do you still think that matatiki is still important celebration?                                                                                
A. Again i think this myself um because it will be the same thing and it will never change and it will still be there no matter what.
